SAFERPLACES at AGU fall meeting in San Francisco

SAFERPLACES: project presentation at AGU fall meeting in San Francisco!

The Climate-KIC demonstrator project “SAFERPLACES” was selected for an oral presentation at the Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in San Francisco from December 09-13, 2019!

It is the world’s largest geoscience conference with more than 20,000 participants from over 100 countries.

Our STURZFLUT tool provides the gold standard for the calculations of the pilot studies in Rimini (2019/20) and Pamplona (2020/21) for the calibration of the GIS-based tool developed by the University of Bologna and our Italian partner company gecosistema for the semi-automatic calculation of hazards caused by pluvial floods.

We are very pleased to be able to contribute our expertise in the modelling of heavy rainfall events in this project and therefore being able to make a valuable contribution to the protection of buildings against pluvial flooding!
